Molluscum Contagiosum

Oh! My poor baby! He get's the most random diseases! I should have known I was in for it with him when he decided to spend his first days in the N.I.C.U. Since then we have been into the doctor's office with a LEAST one major disaster each year. We've dealt with severe R.S.V., Impetigo, Rotavirus, Strep, Swine Flu (confirmed) , Influenza, Ear Infections, Eczema, Allergies, and a Broken Leg...JUST TO NAME A FEW!!!

Our Latest Adventure: Molluscum Contagiosum

OK- This REALLY SUCKS!!!!

"Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a viral infection of the skin. It is caused by a DNA poxvirus called the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), infecting only humans. This viral disease has a higher incidence in children and those who are immunodeficient. The infection is most common in children aged one to ten years old. MC can affect any area of the skin but is most common on the trunk of the body, arms, and legs."

GO TEAM! GO CHEETAHS!

You can probably guess where Lex's team came up with their name this year. They wanted to be the Cheetos. They settled on being called the Cheetahs. Lex is doing a fantastic job this year... he kicks with his left foot & has a gorgeous left strike. I am debating on putting him on a competition team next year...hmm....

Black Island Farms

Picking Pumpkins @ the Black Island Farm.~.~.I LOVE HALLOWEEN TIME!

The boys and I went to Black Island Farm with my parents & Lauren & Rebecca. It was really fun to take a hay ride out to the pumpkin patches and pick your own pumpkin right off the vine. Lex was disappointed that he forgot to take a tape measure. He wanted to get a pumpkin that was at least two feet big. Jonny & Grandpa LJ walked all the way across the field on a search for the BIGGEST pumpkins...and found them. I selected a pumpkin that was perfectly round & just the right size for carving a jack-o-lantern.

After we found our pumpkins, the the boys went down the grain-chute slide and played on the hay-slides. And--- just like TYPICAL boys, they were both bleeding within 5 minutes of hitting the play ground. Somehow Jonny got a piece of straw under his fingernail and his finger was bleeding. As soon as I dealt with Jonny's bleeding, Alex came down a slide and hit his face. He almost bit through his lip. Luckily they are both big enough that they didn't cry.

After a pizza dinner, homemade rootbeer, and freshly fried donuts, we walked the corn mazes. This year's theme was the same as last year... TWILIGHT (the Stephenie Meyers series). The weather was gorgeous...blue sky & 80-degrees!!! Enjoy pictures of our fun day!!!
