Lex's New Ambition

As we were driving to the Mall, Lex suddenly, randomly declared, "I want to own a taco cart when I grow up so that everyone can come and eat yummy tacos."

I told him that he can have a taco cart in the parking lot of the hotel he is going to build me. LOL

Molluscum Contagiosum

Oh! My poor baby! He get's the most random diseases! I should have known I was in for it with him when he decided to spend his first days in the N.I.C.U. Since then we have been into the doctor's office with a LEAST one major disaster each year. We've dealt with severe R.S.V., Impetigo, Rotavirus, Strep, Swine Flu (confirmed) , Influenza, Ear Infections, Eczema, Allergies, and a Broken Leg...JUST TO NAME A FEW!!!

Our Latest Adventure: Molluscum Contagiosum

OK- This REALLY SUCKS!!!!

"Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a viral infection of the skin. It is caused by a DNA poxvirus called the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), infecting only humans. This viral disease has a higher incidence in children and those who are immunodeficient. The infection is most common in children aged one to ten years old. MC can affect any area of the skin but is most common on the trunk of the body, arms, and legs."

GO TEAM! GO CHEETAHS!

You can probably guess where Lex's team came up with their name this year. They wanted to be the Cheetos. They settled on being called the Cheetahs. Lex is doing a fantastic job this year... he kicks with his left foot & has a gorgeous left strike. I am debating on putting him on a competition team next year...hmm....

Black Island Farms

Picking Pumpkins @ the Black Island Farm.~.~.I LOVE HALLOWEEN TIME!

The boys and I went to Black Island Farm with my parents & Lauren & Rebecca. It was really fun to take a hay ride out to the pumpkin patches and pick your own pumpkin right off the vine. Lex was disappointed that he forgot to take a tape measure. He wanted to get a pumpkin that was at least two feet big. Jonny & Grandpa LJ walked all the way across the field on a search for the BIGGEST pumpkins...and found them. I selected a pumpkin that was perfectly round & just the right size for carving a jack-o-lantern.

After we found our pumpkins, the the boys went down the grain-chute slide and played on the hay-slides. And--- just like TYPICAL boys, they were both bleeding within 5 minutes of hitting the play ground. Somehow Jonny got a piece of straw under his fingernail and his finger was bleeding. As soon as I dealt with Jonny's bleeding, Alex came down a slide and hit his face. He almost bit through his lip. Luckily they are both big enough that they didn't cry.

After a pizza dinner, homemade rootbeer, and freshly fried donuts, we walked the corn mazes. This year's theme was the same as last year... TWILIGHT (the Stephenie Meyers series). The weather was gorgeous...blue sky & 80-degrees!!! Enjoy pictures of our fun day!!!

4th of July Weekend

We had a really busy 4th of July. Saturday started off with a yard sale from 8am to noon. Yard sales are hard work, especially nearly 100-degree weather. I did quite a bit of success though which is a really good thing.

Next we watched a bit of the World Cup! We LOVE soccer and it is such a joy to watch the games. Our team won! GO SPAIN!!!

After the game, we went up to the Andersen's house to see family/friends! This was sooo much fun! We cooked in dutch ovens. We had Mountain Dew Stew and several different types of cobbler (Peach was my favorite).

At the Andersen's, the boys were able to ride on the 4-wheelers. And most exciting, Jonny was able to learn to ride on a motorcycle. I was a little nervous, but extremely proud at the same time. He caught on pretty quickly.

Of couse Jonny is riding in his soccer jersey:

After time with the family, we headed down to the fireworks. Utah is lame and doesn't celebrate holidays on Sunday. The FIRST set of fireworks we watched was Saturday, July 3rd at in Morgan. Pretty cool show for a small town. ;)

Sunday was really relaxed. In the evening, I took the boys over to visit their dad's family. We had a BBQ at Cheryl's house followed by our own fireworks in the street. Their next door neighbor is CRAZY about fireworks and lights HIMSELF on fire!!! Seriously! I've never seen anything like it.

Monday, July 5th, was the "state holiday". Monday we went to the Layton City parade in the morning. In the early afternoon we watched our friend Isaac play in an All-Star baseball game. Then we went to the Layton City carnival for food and games. In the late afternoon we went to the pool for some fun & sun. Finally, Monday evening we relaxed on the grass at the Police Station and lit fireworks in the street. There was a big firework show by the city that was awesome (except for the music.... I'm going to write a letter the music was so awful.)

Happy Birthday America!!!

Shattered Glass

Nothing ruins your Saturday Night faster then coming home from a Soccer Tournament to find broken glass in your kitchen. Some jerk shot a rock though my windows. They cut through the screen & succeeded in breaking both window panes. My neighbors said that they didn't see anything. Regretfully, no one is accepting responsibility either. Gosh! It's really frustrating that some people seem to have no ethics! If my kid broke a window I would march them over to the neighbor to apologize & offer to pay. I had to call the police & they said it was most likely a rock & a sling shot. Grrrrr...!!! #$%$&&#@

Viva Las Vegas!!

My friend Heidi was stationed on Guam for 3 years. She was able to come to the States for a month before relocating to Aviano, Italy. While she was in town a bunch of decided to go to Las Vegas! Woot! I <3 Vegas!

I stayed at the Four Seasons & had a GORGEOUS sunset view! WOW! I got in some sun worship at the pool, had an awesome dinner at Tao @ The Venetian, went dancing, did a little gambling, saw the Jabawokeez, etc.!! Viva Las Vegas!

Cousin Hailey

I think that Jonny & Lex's little cousin Hailey is darling. She is two and has a huge crush on Jonny. She tries to kiss him & hug him whenever she sees him.

Alex's First Pedicure

Yes- I know I spoil him, but he's my baby. Alex thought his first pedicure was the best thing EVER!!! He almost fell asleep in the massage chair. As soon as his pedicure was done he asked the technician if he could have another.

Alex's Talent Show

Alex had a talent show at school. The talent show was completely optional and until the day of the talent show he had not expressed ANY interest in show-casing a talent. In the morning Alex came up to me & asked me if he could take his etch-a-sketch to school. I though he was just going to play with it at recess so I gave him the go-ahead. It wasn't until later that day I learned that he drew a picture on the etch-a-sketch and submitted it as his talent. WOW! I bet the teacher never saw that one coming! I know that I sure didn't. Crazy kid.

WD40

Sometimes boys are WAY to creative for their own good. Jonny, Lex, and Andrew were playing at the neighbors house across the street & found a can of WD40 in their yard. Jonny had the brilliant idea of spraying down the slide with WD40 so that they would slide faster! The probably wouldn't have gotten caught if it wasn't for the fact that their clothes came home smelling like turpentine.

So...I took the boys over to the neighbors, made them apologize, and wash the slide with dish soap so that none of the smaller children's clothes would be ruined or smell like turpentine. They hated me for about an hour, but now it's pretty funny. Jonny said he caught air when he slid down on his feet! (SOOooo glad I didn't see that!)

The other boy in the picture is Lupita's son, Andrew. Yep- they all did the crime, they all paid the time.

Santa Monica

Nothing follows a busy day trekking around Hollywood like a relaxing day in Santa Monica. Jonny, Lex, & I spent the next day of our L.A. vacation hanging out at the Santa Monica Pier and sunbathing on Santa Monica Beach. We also did the walk along the sidewalk to Venice/Muscle Beach.

The boys love the ocean. When my friend Tisha lived in San Diego, we went to the ocean all of the time. I think it had been at least 3-4 years since I had taken the boys to the water ocean. We've been pretty landlocked living in Phoenix & Salt Lake City (not that we don't travel...just not to the ocean).

Anyway, the boys ran through the waves...built sand castles (or sand fortresses) and buried each other in the sand.

Hollywood

For Spring break in April 2010 I took the boys to the Los Angeles area to get some sunshine. It was snowing in Utah when we left and a cozy 75 degrees in L.A. when we landed.

The boys thought it was awesome to walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It's amazing how many names you recognize, and how many you don't. Alex's favorite star was Godzilla. Jonny's favorite star was Bruce Lee. We took a picture of Kermit the Frog's star especially for Alyson.

There is soooo much to see in Hollywood. Street performers, stars, the walk of fame, Madame Taussads, the Hollywood sign, Ripley's, the Chinese Theater...just to name a few. We also went across Hollywood Blvd. to the Disney Soda Shop for old fashion sodas & cupcakes...mmmm!!! This was a great day!
